DESCRIPTION:I don’t know what The Del Fi’s are; the more I think about it\, the more I don’t know what to say. But I know it’s right\, and I know it’s good. I know it works. I mean\, it’s Jerry Leger’s thing\, but when I asked him what he would say The Del Fi’s are\, all he would tell me is that I (meaning me) am The Del Fi’s\, just as you (meaning you) are The Del Fi’s. And because you are you\, you understand. Don’t you? \nOkay\, maybe we should try this again. Jerry Leger is a Toronto singer/songwriter\, and one of the best in the world\, as far as I’m concerned. If you haven’t heard him\, you have no right to be one of these people constantly moaning about how music was so much better when people actually played instruments\, blah\, blah\, blah. \nJerry loves Bob Dylan\, Neil Young and John Lennon. Sometimes it sounds as though all three are fighting for space in his songs. But those songs are his own\, the product of a natural born storyteller with a sense of rhythm that would make Little Richard’s big toe shoot up in his boot. \nJerry’s songs hit deep in your soul\, but he also often loves just making music with folks just to flex some of his old time rock and roll muscles\, and explore some of the paths his songwriting normally doesn’t take. That’s kinda where The Del Fi’s come in. \nIt’s rock and roll that we all care about right? I’m sure you wouldn’t still be reading this if you didn’t agree. So I guess that does make you a Del Fi. Welcome aboard and grab an instrument\, we’ve got a show to do.

DESCRIPTION:Born in South Bend\, Indiana\, Michael Jerome Browne’s home was filled with recordings of seminal blues and folk musicians. By age twelve Michael was bending a few blue notes on the harmonica and was teaching himself guitar when he saw Lightning Hopkins. That was when something clicked. He began to understand what was going on with blues guitar. Of course at that age he didn’t always understand the words\, but the blues spoke to him in a profound and visceral way\, and he knew this was something he needed to do. \nBy the age of fourteen\, MJB was already a regular on the vibrant Montreal folk and coffee house scene\, adding banjo\, fiddle\, and mandolin to his masterful command of guitars and harmonica\, and delving into Old Time and Cajun music. From his first public performance until now his authenticity\, integrity\, and profound connection to the music comes through loud and clear. Whether he’s gliding a slide across his resonator guitar\, amping up the intensity with his tremolo 12-string\, or “hammering the claw” on his gourd banjo\, Roots music lovers know from the first notes that they are in the room with an artist who has justifiably been heralded as an absolute treasure and one of the finest practitioners of traditional American Roots music. \nMike Daley is a guitarist and singer based in Toronto. A professional musician for over 30 years\, Mike has toured Canada\, the United States and England and has recorded extensively in a variety of musical styles. He is a longtime member of Fraser/Daley with bassist Alec Fraser and is also proud to work with a variety of bands around Toronto including the Tom Waits Appreciation Congregation\, the Travellers and others. \nAn extraordinary singer\, bassist\, guitarist\, and songwriter\, Greg Wyard is the premier solo performer in the GTA\, with thousands of gigs under his belt. DESCRIPTION:This iconic rocker’s roots go back to the sixties as a founding member of Capitol Records’ group\, Edward Bear. After a span as a journey man session musician throughout the seventies\, Danny settled in to the club scene\, establishing a cult following as a genre bender in music and humor. \nA house band gig at Toronto’s famed Albert’s Hall led him to host his own nation-wide TV show\, Stormy Monday. Through the eighties\, Danny starred in CBC radio’s hit series the Hum Line. \nMost recently\, Danny Marks recorded two original music albums\, Guitarchaeology and True\, before paying tribute to Toronto’s R&B roots with Big Town Boy in 2005. \nDanny’s in his thirteenth year as the radio host of JAZZ.FM91’s Saturday night blues show\, bluz.fm. \nAs a child\, young Danny would lock himself in his room with a stack of 45’s\, an old Seabreeze record player\, and a fantasy of having his own radio show. More than a few years later this pre-pubescent propensity paid off.

He is a longtime member of Fraser/Daley with bassist Alec Fraser and is also proud to work with a variety of bands around Toronto including the Tom Waits Appreciation Congregation\, the Travellers and others. \nDave Murphy has recorded and performed worldwide for a wide variety of Canadian acts\, beginning his career as a young musician with a five year stint as keyboardist for Canadian rock legend “Romping” Ronnie Hawkins.  Since forming in 1993\, the Dave Murphy Band has performed over 3000 times.  The band’s mastery of a wide range of styles earned them opening spots for diverse acts like James Brown and The Barenaked Ladies.  The band was the house band for four years running at the Collingwood Elvis Festival\, and was enlisted by the Canadian government to perform separate shows for both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.\nThe band has released two independent CDs of all original material showcasing their wide range of musical interests.  Dave also performed with the late\, great Canadian guitar virtuoso Jeff Healey during the last five years of his tragically short life.  Dave worked as the bandleader of Jeff’s house band for his weekly shows at the club\, a band Jeff affectionately called “the best damned bar band in Canada!”  Dave also toured world wide with Jeff and performed on Jeff’s two final record releases\, the award-winning Mess of Blues and Songs

Now only in her mid-twenties\, Samantha boasts an enviable career: having worked with industry legends such as Beau Dixon\, Russell de Carle\, and Lori Yates\, played countless festivals and concerts\, and released multiple singles—with a highly anticipated EP on the horizon. \nHer first big break came through the Children’s Miracle Network\, where she toured for a number of years as part of the show before her talents led her to taking part in the affiliated Patsy Cline tribute shows\, touring multiple cities to raise money for the charity. Her connection to Cline’s music was unmistakable\, and it wasn’t long before she became a staple at the annual Patsy Cline birthday concert\, shared the stage with Duff MacDonald for the Hank and Patsy hoedown show in Orillia\, and recorded demos of “Walking After Midnight” and “Crazy” for Heather Morgan in Toronto. \nAlongside these performances\, Samantha never stopped singing at gigs big and small. So far she has graced the stages of venues and events like the Showplace Performance Centre in Peterborough\, Hugh’s Room in Toronto\, and most notably\, the main stage of the Mariposa Folk Festival\, where local media gave her the title of “Mariposa Scene Stealer”. \nWhile mostly known for her love of old country\, her musical influences are broad\, ranging from Led Zeppelin\, Supertramp\, Frank Sinatra and Joni Mitchell to Loretta Lynn\, Bob Dylan\, and of course Patsy Cline. Nowhere are these influences more apparent than in her own written songs. \nSamantha’s songwriting process is deeply personal\, drawing from life experiences and her own emotions\, putting more of a focus on storytelling. At the age of 16\, she made her debut as a songwriter with the folk-rock-infused Western Horizon. With lilting vocals that flow like the wind\, the song’s words came to her while driving with her father in their home of Orillia. “I was driving with my dad\, talking about what kind of song I wanted to write\,” she explains. “At some point he looked at the western horizon we were driving past and said\, ‘Let’s start with that.’ After that the words for the song\, about my love of being in Orillia\, just flowed.”  \nOther songs include the touching Life Goes On\, about the death of a beloved family friend\, and One of These Days\, a honky-tonk style breakup song with the amazing line “One of these days you’ll call me back\, but all you’ll get is my voicemail track\,” and her latest\, a cover on Caroll Baker’s heartfelt song\, Picture My Love on You\, recorded with the star’s blessing. \nCurrently\, Samantha is working on an upcoming EP.  The four-track Second Decade is slated for a 2025 release and will be produced by recording the album in Peterborough with producer James McKenty. \nThe road to success is a long one\, but throughout the years Samantha Windover has proven time and time again that she’s willing to put in the miles. With a voice brought up by musical legends and songwriting that puts her heart out into the world\, her incredible talent and dedication to the musical craft has taken her a long way already. After a span as a journey man session musician throughout the seventies\, Danny settled in to the club scene\, establishing a cult following as a genre bender in music and humor. \nA house band gig at Toronto’s famed Albert’s Hall led him to host his own nation-wide TV show\, Stormy Monday. Through the eighties\, Danny starred in CBC radio’s hit series the Hum Line. \nMost recently\, Danny Marks recorded two original music albums\, Guitarchaeology and True\, before paying tribute to Toronto’s R&B roots with Big Town Boy in 2005. \nDanny’s in his thirteenth year as the radio host of JAZZ.FM91’s Saturday night blues show\, bluz.fm. \nAs a child\, young Danny would lock himself in his room with a stack of 45’s\, an old Seabreeze record player\, and a fantasy of having his own radio show. More than a few years later this pre-pubescent propensity paid off.
