Liberty Ale — Anchor Brewing Co.

A classic brew. Anchor Brewing is considered by many to be the catalyst that sparked the American micro-brewery revolution (by no less a person than Fritz Maytag, heir of the Maytag appliance family). By today's standard's Liberty Ale is a fairly tame American-style IPA, but when it was first produced, there was no such thing as an American IPA, and a heavily hop-forward IPA sparked the imagination of a Nation. Citrusy and bright, with less malt balance than it's British counter-parts, Liberty Ale is a significant peice of brewing history.

ABV: 5.8%
Style: American IPA
Price: $5.65/330ml bottle
